Voting information
It's the general election tomorrow - don't forget to use your vote and make your choice count
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm - and remember you must take photo ID to be checked before you are given your ballot paper.
Accepted forms of photo ID include:
- Passport
- Driving licence (including provisional license)
- Blue Badge
- Identity card with PASS mark (Proof of Age Standards Scheme)
- Biometric Immigration document
- Defence identity card
Separate facilities are available if you wish to have your ID verified in private - just ask at the polling station.
This is expected to be a busy election with a high turnout so please do not be put off if there are queues at your polling station - everyone will get the chance to vote.

Blaby District now straddles two constituencies - the longer-standing South Leicestershire and the newer constituency of Mid Leicestershire which is mostly made up of the former Charnwood constituency.
South Leicestershire consists of these wards in our District: Blaby; Cosby and South Whetstone; Countesthorpe; Enderby; Fosse Highcross; Fosse Normanton; Fosse Stoney Cove; Glen Parva; Narborough and Littlethorpe; North Whetstone; and a small part of Leicester Forest and Lubbesthorpe.
The new constituency of Mid Leicestershire consists of these wards in our District: Braunstone Millfield; Braunstone Ravenhurst; Glenfield Ellis; Glenfield Faire; Kirby Muxloe; Leicester Forest and Lubbesthorpe (most); Thorpe Astley and St Mary's.
